Prep Work (Banana and Spinach Protein Shake Review)
First, I know it's a Tuesday, but I wanted to spend a little time talking about prep for the week.
A big change for me over the course of the year was becoming a planner.
If you're going to eat the same thing over and over in a small variety, why not set yourself on a good course and be ready for the week.
As a teacher, it's a must.
Otherwise, I have a built in exccuse as to why I didn't eat right or snacked too much - school, kids, meetings, IEPs, principals, field trips, cleaning, staying late, going in early, etc.
I drink a lot of smoothies.
At least two a day.
Here's my favorite:
Banana and Spinach Protein Shake:
- 1 scoop whey Protein Powder (two if you're a dude) - SFH is my fav.
- 1 cup unsweetended vanilla flavoried almond milk (from Trader Joe's)
- 1/2 a sliced, frozen banana
- 3-4 cups of fresh (better fresh than frozen spinach)
Back on Sunday night, I take a bunch of bananas, slice them up, throw them in a ziplock freezer bag and freeze them.
Take out a bag at a time as needed and enjoy!
A little bit of planning goes a long way.
