Reasons Why?

I love you.
You matter.
And no, no I do not want to run you.

Except Ms. M.
I would run with Ms. M.
#1 reason of why I don't want to run with you.
Would be a reason why she'd want to run with me.

Here's the run down.
RUN down.
Get it.

Slay me.

Contrary to popular belief.
I am not a competitor.
I don't like running beside someone.
It doesn't motivate me.
I motivate me.
And I don't motivate others.
I do better on my own.
Motivating me.  Truth.

I run walk.
And call it running.
And I'm okay with that.
Sometimes I walk run.
Which is different.
More walking, less running.
It works for me.
Because I make it work.

I don't want to chat.
Not even a little.
I want to run.
When I want to run.
I want to walk when I want to walk.
And I don't want to chat.
But I do love your shoes.
You should totally buy those pants from Lulu.
And no, I don't like your boyfriend.

I run for pleasure.
You might hate running.
And want me to help you love it.  But.  I can't.
I don't know what about it I love.
I run in pain.
Terrific amounts of pain.
That ranges from stabbing pains to just put me down pain.
Because I love it.
Because there is just something about the crisp air and my blue Reebok.

I sing.  LOUD.  Proud.  And mostly Gospel or Broadway Show tunes when I work out.
Always have.
Always will.
And that's weird.
I get it.
Head poppin'.
Hips shaking.
Finger wagging.
When we were at finals for Extreme Weight Loss.
I'd get up at 4am.
And work out on that elliptical.
Rocking out to Wicked.
I was Idina Menzel.
Or Adele Dazeem.
And when I'd finished, I'd giggle.
Because there would be Brandon Nickens.
Or Tom Becker all like.
There you are.
There you are.
And so.
You probably don't want to run with the crazy lady who talks to herself while she runs.
And heaven help you if a Mariah Carey song comes on.
It's over.
And I will stop running to do a vocal run.

I die.
You don't wanna with me.
Unless you know every lyric of One DAY MORE! and want to belt that.
Then, we can talk ;)

  1. Oh my gosh... I am in love with this post. This is me in EVERY word you said... especially the Broadway singing... Defying Gravity is my pre-race song :)
You could have wrote this FROM me to all the people that ask me to run with them & I have to find excuses to get out of it. :)
